Karen Comer’s Dual Literary Triumphs

In a remarkable achievement, Festival author, Karen Comer has secured two major literary accolades in 2024. Her young adult verse novel, Grace Notes, won the CBCA Book of the Year for Older Readers, while her middle-grade book, Sunshine on Vinegar Street, received the Queensland Literary Award for Children’s Book and was nominated for the CBCA Book of the Year for Younger Readers. These honours underscore Comer’s versatility and talent in crafting compelling narratives for young audiences. ​
