CHARLIE ARCHBOLD

With a big love for adventure, Charlie is the author of the action-packed middle grade series, The Sugarcane Kids.

Charlie was born in London and loves travelling to meet people and learn about new places. As well as writing she has been a teacher, performer and fruit picker. Charlie also writes picture books and novels for older readers. Her debut novel, Mallee Boys, is a contemporary High School read.

Her books have won awards and been recognised on shortlists. Charlie writes characters who work together with friends, family and community to right the wrongs in their world.

The Sugarcane Kids with Charlie Archbold

Years 3-6

Join author, Charlie Archbold, as she shares the latest book in the Sugarcane Kids Series, The Mystery at Angel Bay. Charlie will lead activities that explore the animals who live in Far North Queensland and the characters in her stories. There will be opportunities for creative writing and book readings. Come along for writing fun and rainforest adventure.

Creativity and Finding Your Writing Voice

Years 5-8

This workshop explores the concept of creativity, the pitfalls, the joys, and the places we find it. The session blends the authors creative writing experience with collective ideas on the importance of curiosity. Students will engage in writing activities about setting and place in poetry and prose.
