LILI WILKINSON

Lili Wilkinson is the award-winning author of twenty books for young people, including A Hunger of Thorns which won the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, and was a CBCA Honour Book.

Lili has a PhD from the University of Melbourne, and is a passionate advocate for YA and the young people who read it, establishing the Inky Awards at the Centre for Youth Literature, State Library of Victoria. Her latest books are the Bravepaw series and Unhallowed Halls.

Lili will introduce her latest books, focussing on where ideas come from, world building, and why she hates Cinderella

Lili will introduce her bestselling fantasy adventure series Bravepaw, the story of a young mouse who must go on a quest to save the world. In an interactive and lively presentation, Lili will explain how the book came to be, and the true meaning of bravery.

WORKSHOPS

20 Questions: Spark to story

Years 7-11

In this interactive and engaging workshop, students will be led through the storytelling process, through generating an idea, brainstorming, character development and plot.

Roll for Story

Years 3-4

In this fun and interactive workshop, students will develop their own Bravepaw-style story, using dice-rolling to brainstorm animal protagonists, fantastic settings and magical items.
